Skanska is renovating and expanding the historic building of Ohio University, USA, for $67 million, or approximately SEK 640 million
ÖSTERSUND, Sweden , June 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Skanska signed a contract with the University of Cincinnati for the renovation and addition of a historic building to Cincinnati, Ohio, UNITED STATES. The contract is worth $67 millionon SEK 640 millionwhich will be included in the order intake in the United States for the second quarter of 2022.
Specifically, the 6,100 square meter renovation will include new offices, open engineering research labs, classrooms, biology and chemistry teaching labs, and collaboration spaces. The approximately 13,400 square meter addition will include new state-of-the-art open-bay chemical research laboratories with chemical storage, material support and service areas.
The project is part of a series of major capital projects and will allow the University to expand basic science education, as the existing building is unable to meet the needs of modern university research.
Work should start in May 2023 and should end in March 2025.
